Maria, a 48-year-old woman, is trapped between two worlds—one guided by asceticism, the other fuelled by the need to reconnect and be with her two sons. Through carefully composed shots and minimalistic sound, we glimpse into her everyday life, thoughts, and emotions.
Director
Ana Vijdea was born and brought up in Romania. She studied Cinematography and Media at Babes-Bolyai University (RO), Film Directing and Production at Syracuse University (USA), and she has recently graduated from DocNomads, an international master’s program in documentary film directing. Throughout her studies she made several films that were screened and awarded at various international film festivals such as IDFA, True/False, Visions du Réel among others. In 2017 she was named one of the “25 New Faces of Independent Cinema” by Filmmaker Magazine.
