The Digital Exhibition “How Do I See You – Kosovo?” is open and can be seen at the Shani Efendi Gallery until Saturday.

This exhibition is the culmination of a transformative journey for 14 young individuals from diverse communities across Kosovo. This initiative is the result of a fruitful collaboration between DokuFest and the OSCE Mission in Kosovo, a partnership that commenced with Media Education and has now branched into the realm of inter-community cooperation.

The pilot project, "How Do I See You - Kosovo?" was designed to challenge preconceptions and foster mutual understanding and inter-ethnic tolerance among the young people of Kosovo, particularly in an era marked by divisive media narratives. Over the course of a week, these young individuals explored Kosovo, using the medium of visual art to shed light on the differences that often went unnoticed and were normalized within the cultural discourse and public opinion.

This 20-minute digital exhibition is a testament to their journey. It showcases video interviews conducted with participants on the final day of the Intercultural Camp, an event that included curated visits to various cultural institutions across Kosovo. These participants were allowed to form their impressions of each other, free from external influences, and to delve into the complexities of human connection.

“The Camp was an unforgettable voyage filled with valuable lessons and moments of reflection,” said the participant Fisnik Eger, during the opening ceremony of the Exhibition.

Another youth participant Era Krasniqi described the Camp as a wonderful and memorable adventure. “This Camp provided me with a great platform to express my feelings and opinions on different matters. I felt encouraged and supported to share my ideas and experiences with other participants”.

Ambassador Michael Davenport, Head of the OSCE Mission in Kosovo said that participants represent different communities who went on a voyage of discovery around Kosovo and got to know one another extremely well. “This is one of the things that we as OSCE like to contribute to alongside DokuFest which is contributing to diversity by bringing people from different communities and different backgrounds together to form partnerships and friendships.”

In this exhibition, you will witness firsthand the participants' reflections and reactions to their experiences at the Camp and their evolving perceptions of each other. You will see how they used audiovisual storytelling to convey their newfound experiences and insights, and how they were encouraged to bring their unique stories to life by filmmaker Zgjim Terzi.

Join us to delve into this unique exploration of inter-community relations in Kosovo, and experience the transformative power of mutual understanding and tolerance. We invite you to challenge your perceptions and embrace a deeper understanding of others, as we strive to pave the way for a more inclusive and compassionate society.
