For countless generations the Valbona River has carved its way through the Albanian Alps, leaving its mark on the lives of its people. At turns gentle, powerful or playful, the river moves through the valley carrying songs, childhood memories and legends of old, but something is stirring which threatens to halt its flow.
Director
Liridon Mustafaj (b. Bajram Curri, Albania) is an ecological activist and kayaker. He is a member of the Rivers Collective and has spent years campaigning for the protection of the Valbona River.
Eleanor Mortimer (b. Suffolk, UK) is a filmmaker with a range of award-winning documentaries, often depicting ecological relationships between humans, animals and their environments.
