Harley Prosper was appointed to be the Medicine Man of his community, a Cree village in the plains of central Canada. When he grew up, Harley rejected his responsibility and ran away to Vancouver to drink himself to death. Confined in a hospice for the terminally ill, the film follows the daily ritual of a man who is willing to keep refusing his sacred mission until the last moment.
