The Academy of Muses

Synopsis

On returning from class, a teacher is questioned by his wife, who distrusts his pedagogic project: an “Academy of the Muses” inspired by classical references, which is supposed to contribute to regenerating the world through poetry. The controversial project triggers a series of situations dominated by words and desire.

Director Biography

José Luis Guerín (b. 1960) is a Spanish director from Barcelona. He directed many experimental short films early in his career, and became known outside Spain for his episode in the omnibus film CITY LIFE (1988). He won the Spanish national Goya Award for his documentary IN CONSTRUCTION in 2001.
