An old transient hotel, located in the red zone of Mexicali, in the border between Mexico and the United States, receives every day hundreds of deported migrants that seek to reach or get back the American dream. They turn this hotel into a temporal home. Time travels and the guests are facing the ruthless and devastating reality of the mirage of their dreams.
Directors' Biography
Karla Paulina Sánchez got a MA in Science and Culture Communication and a bachelor’s degree in Communications at Instituto Tecnológico de Estudios Superiores de Occidente (iteso). She’s studying a PhD in Sociocultural Studies at Instituto de Investigaciones Culturales-Museo. Graduated of the Course of International Creation of Documentary in Cali, Colombia. She is member of the Film Research Network of Guadalajara and Documentary Network of Mexico. She has several publications and coordinates Border Cinema.
