L'Ultima Spiaggia (The Last resort) describes the life and tells the stories of beach-goers revolving around a very popular beach located in Trieste, in the Northeast of Italy, where a wall still separates men from women. A film about boundaries, identities and discrimination. A tragicomedy on human nature.
Director
Thanos Anastopoulos was born in Athens and lived between Italy and Greece. His first feature film, Atlas - All the Weight of the World, was presented in 2004 at the Rotterdam Festival; with the next Correction attended the Berlinale in 2008 and has represented Greece at the Oscars; in 2013 he directed The Daughter, selected at the Berlinale and at the Toronto Festival.
Davide Del Degan started his career in 1997 as a cameraman, editor and assistant director and production, and then made his directorial debut with some award-winning short films: Running out of love (2001), Internal 9 (2004), The Prisoner (2007), gypsy Tale (2009) and Habibi (2011).
