Living with her mother on the outskirts of a small city in northern Albania, Drande takes care of the property she owns. Two cottonwood trees have to be chopped down. Drande is a „Burnesha“: she has chosen the life of a man. By portaying Drande’s choice to lead an independent life, the film depicts the vanishing phenomenon of Burneshas in Northern Albania and the consequences this lifestyle entains.
