Synopsis

The Fifth Column chronicles desperation and mourning in the Armenian quarter of Beirut through a weave of allegorical narratives. In a panic, Hrag has stolen his father’s gun and fled home. As father searches for son, both discover paths to personal freedom in a city that offers no escape.

Director Biography

Born in Kuwait, Boulghourjian is a Lebanese filmmaker and video artist based in Beirut and New York. He has studied at the graduate film program of New York University’s Tisch School of the Arts and his thesis project premiered at the Cinéfondation program of the 2010 Cannes Film Festival and was awarded a third.
