Synopsis

The authors have tried to reflect a wider epic of National Liberation War. The film begins with the Italian fascist occupation and ends with the liberation of Albania. In the film there is a stand against the collaborationist forces like the National Front and British allies and glorification of the Soviet mission. Zana and Beni are the characters that act throughout the movie in different situations, such as underground, in prison and then in the mountain, where their love prevails.

Director Biography

Kristaq Dhamo born on 20 April 1933 in Fier, Albania, is an Albanian actor and film director. He was awarded with the People’s Artist of Albania medal.
Yuri Ozerov, film director, screenwriter, born in 26 January 1921 died 16 October 2001. On 2001 received Russian President Award for his contribution to the development of national cinema.
