Boeskov embarks on a controversial art project which aims to dissolve the boundary between art and life - and thus also between fiction and documentary. In the style of the ‘Yes Men’ he develops an ID sniper rifle, which can be used to register political dissidents during demonstrations. The gun becomes a hit at the arms trade show in Qatar. Everybody wants it and Boeskov’s increasing radicalisation leads him further down a critically slippery slope than he wished for at the beginning. ‘Empire North’ is shot on a mobile phone, and is Boeskov’s commentary on the post-9/11 paranoia of the 21st century.
Born 1973, Denmark. Comes from a background in comics. His documentary style makes use of trap and satire in the Exploring issues such as the weapons industry, globalization, biotechnology, and corruption in politics.
