:DODA – The Life and Adventures of Franz Baron Nopcsa

Macedonia, 2016, 107 min

The Viennese scholar who almost became King of Albania! James Bond, Indiana Jones, Lawrence of Arabia altogether, inspired by Karl May. Franz Baron Nopcsa wrote 180 books and articles and managed to publish around 150. Pure science from many domains. A politician, a spy, a military man, he was doing diplomatic work in Romania, Macedonia, Albania… as one Italian scientist said about Nopcsa: “he was like a comet, going very fast and bringing light to others”. This documentary is about his life and adventures, together with his partner and secretary, Bayazid Elmas Doda.
