Renowned Swiss filmmaker Christian Frei will give a short master-class to aspiring documentary filmmakers and students of film from Kosovo and the region. A screening of short clips from his previous films War Photographer and Giant Budhas together with the screening of Space Tourists will precede the master class in a magnificent surrounding of Gazi Mehmed Pashas Hammam.Open for limited number only.

The BDC 2010 workshop module Prizren

The 2010 BDC Workshop is aimed at Balkan documentary projects with an international potential and a cross-media angle. Through the workshop the projects develop a strategy for alternative distribution and financing, and get exposed to potential financiers and partners.
Tutors, participants and observers coming from such countries as Macedonia, Bulgaria, Serbia, Romania, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Greece, Turkey, UK, Kosovo, Netherlands, Italy, France and USA gathered for the first time to work on 7 inspiring Balkan creative documentary projects.The first session of the workshop took place in the beginning of July in Sofia, Bulgaria. The concluding two-day session is held on August 5-6 within DokuFest 2010.
The focus of the training is initial project development for the international documentary market. The main stress is to explore, along with the traditional sources of financing, also tailor-made strategies for innovative funding, development and distribution of the projects.
A master class with acclaimed Finish filmmaker Visa Koiso-Kanttila will accompany the workshop.
