Synopsis

Ãgtux is the Maxakali Indian word for storytelling. These native Brazilians have rich traditions of art and music and once roamed the breadth of Brazil from the mining state of Minas Gerais to Bahia on the northeast coast. Now reduced to merely 1,200 in number, they live in misery on a tiny reservation in the Valley of Mucuri. Using experimental documentary techniques and animation, this film imagines the Maxakali restored to their former glory.
