Synopsis

AIn an intriguing way “a BLOOMING BUSINESS” shows the world of Jane, Oscar and Kennedy, who all depend somehow on the huge flower farms in Naivasha, Kenya. A poetic, cinematic and poignant documentary, in which director Ton van Zantvoort goes deep into the lives of the main characters. Is the smell of the imported rose so sweet indeed?

Director Biography

Born in the Netherlands in 1979, his graduation film “Khamu Village” was named one of the Top Ten Best Student Films during the Dutch Film Festival (NFF). In 2005, he directed his first feature documentary “Grito de Piedra”, which premiered at the International Documentary Festival, Amsterdam. “a BLOOMING BUSINESS” is his second feature documentary.
