DokuFest opened its call for interns for the 13th edition of the festival, to be held from 16-24 August in Prizren.


Each department has different qualifications. Please carefully review all the jobs available before you apply for a position you feel best suits you.

Job Description: The Communication Department is looking for an intern interested in learning all aspects of the public relations field. The intern who fills this position should expect to learn the field from top to bottom, and will complete graduate from this program ready to enter any fast-paced public relations firm with excellent skills. It’s essential that applicants to this position have excellent communication skills, demonstrate creativity, and understand the importance of attending to even the smallest details.

Responsibilities: Monitor all forms of media; Schedule and coordinate speaking engagements, appearances, photo shoots, and other special events; Write press releases and other materials; Screen phone calls; Assist with mailings, print production; Create interview preparation materials; Compile contact lists; Search for press clippings; Create or update databases; Greet guests and journalists

Job Requirements: Students applying for this internship must have strong communication skills and should be majoring in Public Relations, Communications, Marketing or Journalism. Applicants should also have strong writing skills, as well as a solid understanding of social media. Only interns proficient with Microsoft Excel and other Microsoft Office applications should apply.

Job Description:  DokuFest looking for interns with strong knowledge and understanding of the digital media landscape, including various social media websites. DokuFest is currently redesigning the website, and will soon launch a social media campaign. The intern hired for this position will need strong critical thinking skills in order to integrate into our vibrant and passionate team who are very excited to share this exciting launch with an intern hoping to gain a ton of great online experience.

Responsibilities: Contribute to website redesign project in various ways; Monitor and post on blogs, forums, and social networks; Online outreach and promotion using Facebook, Twitter, Instagram and more; Website and social media optimization; Keyword analysis; Cost/benefit analysis.

Job Requirements:  Students applying for this internship should be Marketing/Business or Language majors, with 3 years of experience on the Web and a solid understanding of youth markets.

Job Description:  DokuFest publishes a daily newspaper “DokuDaily” that highlights the important events, screenings and interviews that occur during the Festival. The intern(s) have an opportunity to work and be guided by highly skilled graphic and layout professionals before and during the 11th edition of DokuFest. Responsibilities include systematization of photographs received by DokuFest photographers, laying out text, graphics and photographs into predesigned format, design logo(s), etc.

Job Requirements:  People skills are a must. Duties include assisting editor in chief in collection of articles from the journalists, collection of photographs from photographers to prepare for layout. Assisting head layout staff in graphics. Vector based imagery knowledge is a must. Excellent command of Adobe InDesign, Illustrator and Photoshop and of basic computing, particularly the Microsoft Office is a must. Ability to deliver timely and high quality results under tight deadlines. Excellent coordination skills, and an ability to follow instructions, work under pressure as a part of a team, or independently is required. Knowledge of English is an asset.

Job Description:  DokuFest’s departments DokuTV and DokuBooth are looking for videographers, camera operators and editors for the 13th edition of the Festival. The internship is located in Prizren, Kosovo and is a great opportunity to network with filmmakers and other film professionals with a great amount of creative freedom and individuality. This is an opportunity to join a motivated and hardworking staff and for one of the best summer of your life!

Job Requirements:  People skills are a must. Must be familiar with Final Cut Pro, Compressor, Adobe Creative Suite, etc. Familiar with media formats, SD cards, P2 cards, CF cards, SxS cards, video codecs, Final Cut Pro, etc. Strong working knowledge of live shoots; Strong ability to edit content in a way to create meaningful stories; Ability to handle multi-task, is organized, works well with others, tech-savvy, and fun! Interns bringing their own laptops with editing software will be given a priority.
