Our friends Ali Asgari and Farnoosh Samadi will stop by again this year at Prizren to share their work with us, through a special presentation that will reflect the life within the Iranian society.
Although most of these films were screened in the past editions of DokuFest, we think this work deserves to emerge once again as a whole, with the presence of authors, as they explore complex and sensitive topics that are produced in the simplest form possible.
These stories in themselves contain many messages, especially for future generations of Iranian society where censorship in filmmaking is inevitable.
It’s considered a real skill to make films in Iran that directly affect topics such as domestic violence, gender issues or human rights and to not fall victim to censorship.
Through a simple and creative storyline, Ali and Farnoosh manage to enliven the difficult events of ordinary people and their confrontation with the Iranian conservative society
This special presentation will screen films that appeared or got rewarded at the most famous festivals in the world, such as Cannes, Venice and Sundance. This fact best illustrates the impact these short films have on cinematography and in particular the realistic reflection of Iranian society.
