“HOME” nominated for the European Film Academy Award
The Short film “HOME” a Kosovo / UK co-production, starring Jack O’Connell and Holliday Grainger, directed and written by Daniel Mulloy has been Nominated today for the European Film Academy Award.
This is the second EFA nomination for Daniel Mulloy, who was nominated before in 2007 with his short film “DAD”. The EFA short film initiative is organised by the European Film Academy in co-operation with a series of film festivals throughout Europe.
On accepting the award and Nomination at “Curtas Vila do Conde” in Portugal via video link Daniel Mulloy stated that ”this film is the culmination of many people’s love and effort. We thank you for this and accept it as an acknowledgement that Europe, the UK and the world, need to do much more in response to the current humanitarian crisis and accept refugees as they flee in fear for their lives and those of their families’‘.
“HOME” a DokuFest co-production with Black Sheep Studios and Somesuch, will become the second Kosovar film to be nominated for EFA, following director Blerta Zeqiri’s nomination for “The Return” in 2011. Executive produced by actress Arta Dobroshi and Eroll Billibani of DokuFest and produced in Kosovo by Shpat Deda, “HOME” has now qualified for the American Academy Awards and is now nominated for the European Film Academy Awards also.
“HOME” will have its National premiere at the 15th edition of DokuFest under the “New Kosovo Shorts” Program.
