On August 07, we will be reflecting the goddesses in us with a performance of Kosovar female rhapsody at our fortress gardens.
The band will be performing traditional female folk songs with Def (Frame-drum), which are sung to mark different social ceremonies. The performance will also include the very rare and characteristic throat singing, specific for women shepherds in Kosova and used as a way to communicate in distance.
For many years, these songs were one of the few ways for Kosovar women to express themselves. They tell us of genuine stories and voices so often unheard and are a celebration of Kosova’s women strength and creativity.
The performance is proudly organized in collaboration and with the support of CHwB, with a mutual aim of celebrating and marking Kosovo’s intangible cultural heritage.
