DokuFest’s program aims to:
Develop Film Guides to support educators to achieve a wide range of effective learning outcome in their use of film. Film Guides are developed as a free resource to educators to utilize and to provide students the opportunity for meaningful engagement with the extraordinary medium of film. It also includes activities to use in the classroom after the film screening. Guides will be prepared and uploaded in the online platform of DokuFest available as an online teacher resource for the 2019/2020 school year. The content management of the platform will be done in-house providing access to films, film clips, film guides as well as activity sheets to be used by teachers in respective schools. The content management will include provision of individual accounts for teachers do download the guides and films to be used in the platform. Rise of hate speech is the kind of discrimination that is so strongly present across the whole Western Balkans is now part of public life. Therefore the thematic experts and researchers will support the development of film guides and ensure alignment with the Ministry of Education’s revised curricula, with particular emphasis on lessons that include misinterpreted data and encourage hate speech.
Teachers will receive guidance and counseling through workshops and on-the-job training on the use of film during class. This will be done in 3 workshop sessions and through regular visits in the target. Depending on the covered topic, other NGOs from DokuFest’s partnership program will be invited to present as well. Network Partners from Prince Claus Fund might provide with insights and expertise on particular topics. In house expertise, combined with outsourced thematic experts.
