Prizren, 10 July 2017 – DokuFest announced today the full slate of films in competitions for its 16th edition, running from August 4 – 12 in the city of Prizren, Kosovo.
The Festival will showcase 102 films in its six competition sections representing 50 countries – including two world premieres, two international premieres and a number of European and regional premieres. Eight films from the National competition will also see their world premieres at the festival.
An outstanding body of work of non-fiction cinema, as well as a great array of short fictions and experimental cinema is what characterizes the film competition. This years selections feature a number of returning filmmakers showing their works for the second or third time at the festival while at the same time, a growing number of young and upcoming filmmakers are also appearing across all the competition sections.
In the coming days, the festival will continue to announce other, specially curated strands. These will include its highly popular View From the World, and a specially curated strand on Future to coincide with the central theme of the festival. Also featured, a retrospective of notable American filmmaker as well as number of other strands.
