The closing night of DokuNights will bring you the sorrow and bliss of love, homeland, freedom, longing and poetry. Elina Duni Quartet will perform on 25th of August in Prizren as a closing event of DokuNights!
Originally from Albania, Elina arrived in Switzerland at the age of 11 and currently lives in Bern. She explores the music of Albania in earnest, digging deeper into the country’s troubled history, uncovering many songs of real beauty and power, older songs from her homeland and from its vast diaspora.
Over the last several years, Elina Duni Quartet has bloomed into a subtle unit of broad artistic reach. They make the integration of modal jazz and folk music sound organic. Her last record Matanë Malit was released by legendary jazz label ECM and includes songs of lovers, heroes, workers, shepherds, exiles, songs of resistance.
The concert is generously supported by the Ministry of European Integration of the Republic of Kosovo.
