NSDN brings sixteen films to DokuFest
In cooperation with The American Documentary Film Festival (AmDocs) and The International Documentary Film Festival of Mexico City (DocsMX), DokuFest announces its North South Doc Network slate.
The North South Doc Network or NSDN is a unique cooperation between four festivals in Kosovo, Mexico and Ecuador that will allow filmmakers to share films and experiences, as well as enable wider audiences to see documentaries about their culture and identity.
The NSDN slate at DokuFest will feature films from each of the respective festival’s geographical regions, allowing for a greater comparison of cultures, traditions and phenomena.
The sixteen NSDN films that will screen at DokuFest, address social issues and focus on subjects of a more private nature: a story about a gay marriage in Utah, an inspirational documentary about the power of never giving up, the story of a group of women that are known in Mexico for preparing food and handing it to the migrants that cross their county on trains, and the story of Lotte Reiniger that ignited the world of animation with shadows, light, and a pair of magical scissors.
